Anke Lundborg, a dedicated and experienced councilwoman, has been unanimously nominated by the Pulheim chapter of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen as their candidate for the upcoming mayoral election in autumn 2025. Lundborg, a 56-year-old teacher at Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium, has been serving on the city council since 2022. She is actively involved in the Committee for Real Estate and Building Construction, the Committee for Social Affairs, Integration, and Generations, and the Committee for Education, Culture, Sports, and Leisure.
In her candidacy announcement, Lundborg emphasized her commitment to utilizing municipal resources more effectively for climate adaptation and policy. She aims to make the city administration more citizen-friendly and efficient by enhancing public participation, improving service delivery, and positioning Pulheim as a more attractive employer to address current staffing shortages.
In the coming weeks, Lundborg plans to engage with residents to present her ideas and initiatives. She expressed enthusiasm for the forthcoming year of dialogue and looks forward to meaningful conversations with the community.
Björn Leschny, co-chair of the Green Party in Pulheim, expressed his delight at Lundborg’s nomination, highlighting her long-standing commitment to the city. He described her as a strong woman who listens, values others, and takes action, offering voters a genuine opportunity for change and progress in Pulheim.
