Björn Leschny, co-chair of the Green Party’s Pulheim local chapter, has been nominated as the Bundestag candidate for Electoral District 90 (Rhein-Erft-Kreis I), securing 95% of the votes.
In his speech, Leschny emphasized the need for decisive action to address current political challenges, particularly following the premature end of the coalition government caused by the FDP. He highlighted the importance of democracy, social and environmental responsibility.
Leschny’s professional experience in an international context, combined with his active participation in five committees of the Pulheim city council—covering areas such as environment, social issues, education, and transportation—positions him as a strong candidate.
District Green Party leaders Birgit Vonester and Christian Schubert praised his focus on climate protection and democracy as key priorities.
