The OAV (German Asia-Pacific Business Association) is a network that promotes economic relations between Germany and the Asia-Pacific region. Established in 1900, it connects businesses, institutions, and experts to foster trade, investment, and collaboration. The OAV offers platforms such as round tables, events, and initiatives to address topics like sustainability, finance, and innovation, with a special focus on the challenges and opportunities in Asia. Its Young Leaders Program encourages the next generation of professionals to engage in cross-cultural exchange and expand their expertise in relevant global issues.

One such initiative is the OAV Young Leaders Sustainability Round Table, which provides a platform for sharing information on current developments, measures, and best practices in various industries, with a particular focus on Asia. It aims to help participants identify business opportunities stemming from the implementation of environmental and social sustainability within their companies.

The inaugural session featured a keynote speech by Matthias Berninger, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, Science, and Sustainability at Bayer AG, alongside contributions from Anna-Lena Rhiem, Public Affairs Expert at Infineon Technologies AG, and Delip Prasad, Manager of Business Operations at Munich Airport International GmbH. The initiative was co-founded by Young Leaders Björn Leschny and Juliane Bendig.

The Sustainability Round Table fosters collaboration across corporate boundaries and regions, encouraging active participation among members to advance sustainability topics in Germany and the Asia-Pacific region. It serves as a vital platform for professionals to drive sustainable business practices and promote innovation in addressing global challenges.
