It was a pleasure to join the Fridays for Future demonstration in Pulheim on March 19, 2021—the first-ever demonstration for climate justice organized in this city. Despite the cold temperatures on the day, they starkly contrasted with the alarming trajectory of our planet’s rising heat levels.
Fridays for Future is an incredible and vital societal movement that has inspired millions around the globe to take action against climate change. By uniting young people, scientists, and supporters from all walks of life, it shines a spotlight on the urgency of keeping our ecological systems from collapsing. The movement not only raises awareness but also holds governments and corporations accountable, pushing for necessary systemic change and ambitious policies to secure a sustainable future. It is this collective voice, especially from the youth, that drives and accelerates change in the fight to protect our planet.
